Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson’s campaign team, the Restoration Campaign Organisation, has boasted that former Governor Timipre Sylva will be humiliated again during the January 9, 2016 rescheduled poll.

The RCO also described as outright lies and false propaganda, claims by the All Progressives Congress that Dickson had stopped December salaries of civil servants.

The campaign organisation also denied buying up voter cards ahead of the rerun election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state saying, the APC candidate, Sylva, would be roundly defeated in the rerun.

The organisation’s Director of Publicity, Jonathan Obuebite, in a statement on Monday, said the claims by the APC were vicious propaganda on the part of Sylva to win election by hook or by crook.

According to him, civil servants in Bayelsa State trust that Dickson won’t take such an action because they know him as “the most civil servant friendly governor who places premium on their welfare and general well-being.”

He added that when other states were owing workers salary for five to eight months and resorting to bail out, Dickson went out of his way to make the much needed sacrifice by cutting down on his personal allowances, including those of his aides and other political appointees just to meet up with the monthly obligations to workers.

On the alleged purchase of PVCs, the PDP said it was another vicious lie and propaganda of the APC, saying no amount of campaign of calumny would save Sylva from crushing imminent defeat in the rerun.

But in a reaction, the APC boasted that its candidate (Sylva) was ready and willing to compete against Dickson at any electoral contest any day because he (Sylva) is sure of winning him.

The party said Dickson, the candidate of the PDP was aware of that fact and had been engaging in all manner of “underhand tactics” to win the rerun election.

The APC in a statement by Director, Media and Publicity, Sylva-Igiri Campaign Organisation, Chief Nathan Egba, said that it was for that reason that the APC vehemently protested the illegal cancellation of the Southern Ijaw election results which clearly would have put the party well ahead of the PDP.

Egba said, “But with all the stakeholders having agreed on a new date, the Sylva- Igiri Campaign Organisation is poised to galvanise our support base in order to repeat the same feat we performed in SILGA and some other polling units across six local government areas.

“Our strength is in the fact that the majority of the people of SILGA are with us and are still committed to standing by us through this whole process in order to eventually celebrate a hard won victory.

“Like you all know that our revered and well-respected deputy governorship candidate, Elder Wilberforce Igiri and our indefatigable State Party Chairman, Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, a former SILGA chairman is from the area.”

He, therefore, called on the people to remain steadfast and vote the APC come January 9 in the rescheduled election.

Egba assured the teeming supporters and members from Southern Ijaw and other places where election would hold, that Sylva was fully aware of all they had passed through in recent times in the hands of the opposition.

He made it clear that the party would fully take care of all the party leaders, members, supporters and friends in the incoming APC administration as Sylva would run an all-inclusive government to bring prosperity to all.
