UNKNOWN gunmen struck in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State and killed a leader of the All Progressives Congress in the area, Mr. Ipalibo Black-Duke.
The gunmen were said to have shot several times at Black-Duke before taking his body away with them on Tuesday night.
The deceased, according to sources, was the APC leader of Ward 3 in Abonnema before he was killed inside his residence.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, said though the victim was kidnapped, he was not aware that he was killed.
Mohammad added that the police had arrested a suspect in connection with the abduction of the victim.
“I am not aware of the death of the victim, but I am aware of his abduction. A suspect, namely Dennis Ipalibo Black-Duke, is now undergoing interrogation in connection with the abduction,” the state police spokesman said
