Indian teen dies after being raped and set on fire
A 15-year-old Indian girl, who was allegedly raped and set on fire in a village near Delhi, died in hospital on Wednesday.
According to a spokesman for Safdarjung Hospital, the girl had suffered 95-per-cent burns.
The senior police official, Rakesh Yadav, said that investigation had commenced.
Yadav said a 20-year-old man allegedly entered the girl’s house on Monday and assaulted her.
The victim’s parents said the man had been stalking her for months.
However, the man has been arrested and faced rape and murder charges.
Attacks on women have been in the spotlight in Delhi after the gang rape and murder of a 23-year-old student on a bus in December 2012.
